At SeaGil Software, we provide aircraft scheduling software designed for those in the private aviation industry. Honda, a well-known car manufacturer, provides motorcycles, ATVs (side-by-sides), engines, outboard motors, generators, lawn mowers, tillers, snow blowers, and yes – a private jet that begins at a mere $4.9 million – the HondaJet HA-420 that received FAA certification in December of 2015. While it isn’t light enough to be classified as a VLJ, it does leave the ground at approximately 138 mph at maximum takeoff weight, according to news reports.
With a cabin capable of accommodating six (including a pilot or two), the HondaJet also offers another option; a layout that allows for seven passengers with a side-facing seat opposite the main door. With a maximum altitude of 43,000 feet, the HondaJet is said to offer amazing views of the ground from windows fitted with darkening electrochromic shades passengers can use at the touch of a button.
What about gas mileage? When cruising at about 400 mph, the HondaJet gets about 4 mpg; this equates to about 165 gallons over a 690 mile (600 nautical mile) trip, not bad at all.
With ultra-soft leather seats that offer side-to-side position adjustments, reclining, and fore-aft, they’re said to be super comfortable by those who’ve experienced a flight onboard the private jet, designed in a way that makes it the perfect workspace for corporate travelers. Lots of modern amenities, including a fully private lavatory, make traveling more relaxing than with many other private jets.
The Honda Aircraft Company claims the HondaJet outperforms all other aircraft in its class, using less fuel while climbing faster and soaring higher than its competitors. The company says this is the next generation of flight, and the most advanced light business jet in the world.
